MIRIA Intradermal Laser Debuts at ASLMS 2024

AVAVA is launching MIRIA by AVAVA, an intra‐dermally focused 1550 nm laser for skin resurfacing and soft tissue coagulation at the 2024 American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) annual meeting.

In addition, MIRIA will be available in Korea and Japan later this year through an exclusive distribution partnership with Jeisys, the Company reports.

AVAVA’s proprietary Focal Point Technology utilizes a conical geometry to deliver non-ablative high energy laser treatment with pinpoint accuracy at any depth of the skin. It as U.S, Food and Drug Administration regulatory clearance for energy up to 150mJ, sparing the epidermis from collateral damage, a major plus for darker skin tones.

MIRIA incorporates a significantly improved skin cooling system and proprietary AVAVASite, an imaging modality that captures, stores, and tracks high resolution images and videos of areas of interest on the skin.

“There is a severe lack of safe and effective aesthetic treatment options for patients with skin of color. With MIRIA, we now have the ability to safely renew the deeper levels of the skin and improve skin conditions. This is transformative as for most of my patients with darker skin types, conventional laser treatments are unsafe or ineffective,” says Dr. Valerie Callender, Medical Director of Callender Dermatology & Cosmetic Center in Glenn Dale, MD, in a news release.
