Building the Case for the Use of a Novel Nutraceutical in Mild-to-moderate Acne

Julie Harper, MD, a Dermatologist in Birmingham, AL, and Zoe Diana Draelos, MD, a Dermatologist in solo private practice in High Point, NC, and President of Dermatology Consulting Services, review the results of a 12-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial that evaluated the safety and efficacy of a nutraceutical (Nutrafol Skin) for mild-to-moderate acne in adult women. The study, which is published in the May 2025 issue of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, found that the nutraceutical significantly improved mild-to-moderate acne and overall skin health. In this video, the duo also discusses the root causes of acne that are targeted by ingredients in the nutraceutical and how the supplement can augment acne care.
